It can be argued that contemporary left leaning policies to promote abortion, Medicaid, welfare, illiteracy, and atheism and providing substantial pressure for African Americans to not think and vote on their own but instead to vote en masse for Democrats each cycle achieves nearly the identical aim. Slavery is gone but social servitude is alive and well"
